History through Art (751)

History through Art is a survey course in art history where students will study art movements and characteristics of art chronologically from the Medieval period up to the present time, with a special focus on art of the Renaissance and the 19th century. After each unit of study, students will learn how to create art in the style of that particular time period/ movement. Students will visit virtual museums all over the world and look at the connections among various types of art that have been created for the past 600 years. This course aims to expand the student’s understanding and love of history and visual art. (1/2 credit)
