A Message From Sister Myra

Dear Friends,

Once again Sacred Heart is bustling with activity -  from the Early Childhood Center through the Kindergarten to the Elementary, Middle School and High School. Excited (or maybe not so excited) students are trying to figure out their schedules, greet old friends, or get to know new friends.  And it is my privilege to join in the excitement of this new school year as the Interim President of Sacred Heart School during this 70th Anniversary Year of our School.

It is with great joy, humility and excitement that I have accepted the call to be the Interim President for Sacred Heart School. Great joy, because I am a firm advocate of Catholic education and have been a member of the Board of Directors of Sacred Heart for the past 4 years. I come with great humility because I am walking in the footsteps of the remarkable and dedicated women of my Congregation, the Sisters of Divine Providence, who, with tremendous sacrifice, built this school into the impressive learning institution it is today; and the committed and loyal lay women and men, educators all, who joined hands with the Sisters as the school grew. Together these women and men laid the foundation for the Sacred Heart School system and continue to contribute to the advancement of Sacred Heart. We will be celebrating these individuals along with the outstanding alumni of Sacred Heart  during our 70th anniversary year festivities in 2017. Finally, I come with great excitement because I have met the fine young women and men who are our students now, the excellent faculty and staff who are committed to our students and their future, and the parents who continue to sacrifice to send their young people to Sacred Heart because they believe in Catholic education.

But, Sacred Heart is about more than looking back and remembering. It is about the future; preparing our students both morally and academically to take their place in a world that is vastly different from the world that many of our alums faced when they left. It is about being ready to respond to what the future is calling us to NOW.  I assure you that our young people, and our faculty and staff are committed to this task. Our future alums, like our alums of the past 70 years, will be ready for the challenges that come their way. This is Sacred Heart's commitment to you!

Sincerely,

Sr. Myra Rodgers, CDP
