Students may register for the test only once, on the date that is most convenient. The test will be administered at Sacred Heart High School on October 28th, November 18th, and December 2nd.

Students Applying to Sacred Heart Intermediate Level (7th and 8th grade)
Students applying to Sacred Heart for 7th or 8th grade will take a placement exam consisting of three parts: Math, Communicative Arts, and Reading. This exam will be administered at Sacred Heart High School by appointment. Testing begins at 9 a.m. and students are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. and the test will be finished by 11:15 a.m.

Explanation of Intermediate School Placement Testing
The QUIC Tests of Mathematics and Communicative Arts establish and verify the functional proficiency of each applicant in those subjects. They are useful in determining placement and leveling for each student.
The Gates-MacGinitie Reading Test is also administered to assess both reading vocabulary and comprehension.
Students Applying to Sacred Heart School for Grades 1 through 6
The final step in the process for Elementary School is completion of a placement test in reading and math. Placement testing is scheduled on a Saturday morning in April and May. Contact the Admissions Office for more information or to register for the next scheduled placement test.
The final step in the process for Kindergarten is completion of the Kindergarten Screening. Contact the Early Childhood Center at 781-585-2290 to schedule an appointment for the Kindergarten Screening.
Elementary School: Soccer, instructional for grades 1 & 2, travel team for grades 3-6. Also, various after school clubs, varying by session, and according to interest.
High School/Middle School: Athletics (intermediate, junior varsity and varsity); nationally-recognized programs in the arts, such as speech, debate, creative writing, journalism, and a diverse offering of clubs and organizations, including Robotics, Astronomy, and We are the World, a multi-cultural club.
Elementary School: Students in grades 2-6 are evaluated with nationally-recognized 'Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) multiple times during the year in the areas of Reading, Language Usage and Math.
Middle School: All students in Grades 7 & 8 are evaluated with the IOWA test on a annual basis. This instrument helps to chart student progress and monitor the academic program.
High School: SHHS is a college preparatory school, and as such, students are expected to take the PSAT, SAT and/or any other achievement tests recommended by the Guidance Dept. in order to fulfill the college application process.
AP: All Advanced Placement courses are approved by the College Board and students who take the course are expected to take the test.
SHHS: Sacred Heart High School administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT) for entrance to 9th grade as part of the Archdiocese of Boston Catholic High School testing program. Students who take the test at another Catholic high school must request that their scores be sent to SHHS if applying for admission. In turn, SHHS will send scores from students who take the test here to up to five Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Boston.
Sacred Heart administers its own placement test to students entering 7th and 8th grades.
Early Childhood Center and Elementary School: Transfers are dependent upon space availability, former school evaluations, and time of year.
Middle/High School: We are happy to accept qualified students into our community. The process is based upon: transcript, recommendations and discipline reports from the former school; student interview; available space at the high school; and our ability to synchronize existing courses to the the SH program.
