IS Speech Dominant at RJ Grey Winter Invitational

The team of five eighth grade girls, all advanced to their final rounds and took home multiple awards!
Junior Co- Captain, Hannah Andrade, was with them every step of the way providing support and advice. Eighth grade competitor, Kaley O’Day, garnered a finalist award in Declamation, receiving a fifth place medal.
The team swept the Prose Reading competition, with three students advancing to the final round, Shannon Malone, Evrosina Awad, and Shannon Whitaker. Awad placed seventh, Malone placed sixth, and Whitaker placed third in the category.
Avery Schaub had a big day winning the Poetry Reading category. This has been one of the most successful records for the middle school team in the past two years. The 100% success rate should certainly build the morale of the team, as the prepare for their next tournament in January.
