Sacred Heart students brought the true spirit of Christmas to others in many ways throughout the Christmas season. A few examples below show why we are so proud of these young people.
Our Elementary School & ECC Parents' Association worked with Sister Angela to adopt a record high 25 families from three different shelters in our area. Gifts for so many children and their families were donated graciously by our Sacred Heart families. For many families, these gifts will be the only gifts they receive.
Three of our sixth grade elves helped deliver gifts to one of the shelters. They were truly enlightened by the impact of this community service and how this small act made Christmas possible for so many families.
Our ES/ECC Music Teacher Ms. Paine took members of the Elementary School Chorus to visit the Sisters at the Providence House. They sang Christmas Carols for the Sisters and the Sisters treated them to hot cocoa and cookies. The students enjoy experiences like this where they get to have one-on-one time with the Sisters learning about the legacy of Sacred Heart and sharing stories about what is happening in their classrooms.
Senior Anabella Driscoll directed Miss Gillespie and Mrs. Lombardo’s senior Religion classes as they performed their rendition of the Nativity for the Sisters. After hot cocoa and cookies, the students were able to mingle with the Sisters at the Providence House and deliver the homemade personalized ornaments and cards they had made in class. The group sang a couple of Christmas carols before they dashed away to head back to class.
Many students and families honored our deceased military by placing wreaths on their graves at Bourne National Cemetery. Sacred Heart is very humbled and proud to be able to participate in such a wonderful event each year.
Students from Ms. Trahon's Roots & Shoots Club went to the Sunrise of Plymouth Beach assisted living center to spend time with the residents. They played trivia games and decorated gingerbread houses.
Sophomore Hannah Ray spent her first day of Christmas vacation representing Sacred Heart at Christmas in the City in Boston.
Our students truly understand the real meaning of Christmas!
