Sacred Heart honored our nation’s veterans in several ways in November. On Friday, November 8th several students took time out of their classes to show their appreciation to everyone in the military by placing flags along the entrance to the high school.
On Saturday, November 9th, Senior Peer Minister Michael Hurm coordinated Sacred Heart's yearly commitment to place flags on the graves of soldiers at Bourne National Cemetery. A large group of students, faculty, parents, siblings, and friends participated in this beautifully rewarding act of kindness.
And on Wednesday, November 13th our Elementary School hosted the annual Veteran’s Appreciation Lunch to thank those in our Sacred Heart Family who selflessly gave of themselves so that we can freely live, learn, and worship in this great country. Thirty-eight veterans joined the students for lunch after sharing a prayer and learning about the special veterans’ table that Sister Lydia set up to honor the members of the Armed Services.
