Students Applying to Sacred Heart Intermediate Level (7th and 8th grade)
Students applying to Sacred Heart for 7th or 8th grade will take a placement exam consisting of three parts: Math, Communicative Arts, and Reading. This exam will be administered at Sacred Heart High School by appointment.
The exam fee is $30. Contact the Admissions Office for more information or to register for the next available test date.
Explanation of Intermediate School Placement Testing:
The QUIC Tests of Mathematics and Communicative Arts establish and verify the functional proficiency of each applicant in those subjects. They are useful in determining placement and leveling for each student.
Students Applying to Sacred Heart School for Grades 1 through 6
Grades 1 & 2
Placement Test may be required for students applying for Grades 1 & 2 based on school records.
The final step in the process for Kindergarten is the completion of Kindergarten Screening. Once your child has applied for Kindergarten, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a screening.
Elementary School: Students in grades 2-6 are evaluated with nationally-recognized 'Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) multiple times during the year in the areas of Reading, Language Usage and Math.
Middle School: All students in Grades 7 & 8 are evaluated with the IOWA test on an annual basis. This instrument helps to chart student progress and monitor the academic program.
